Cannes Lions Festival 19-25 June 2011.

The Cannes Lions festival has opened for registration. The 58th annual festival of creativity in advertising and communications returns to Cannes from 19-25 June 2011. BUG Moby Special. 1 June 2011.

BUG is delighted to announce a BUG Moby Special at the BFI Southbank on June 1st. We’ll be looking back over Moby’s career and his creative collaborations with directors such as David Lynch, Jonas Akerlund and David LaChapelle. And Moby himself will be on hand to chat to Adam about his work and his love of film. Tickets will go on sale for BFI members on May 7th and for non-members on June 14th.

BUG 25’s first show is on May 12th at 20.45 and there will be 2 back -to-back shows of BUG “The Directors Cut” on May 19th at 18.30 & 20.45 – all at the BFI Southbank in NFT1, and hosted by Adam Buxton.

BUG Röyksopp Special Event. 11 February 2011.

The BUG Team have just announced a retrospective of Röyksopp’s music videos to celebrate the release of their Senior album, the all-instrumental counterpart to their critically-acclaimed 2009 set Junior. The show takes place at the BFI Southbank at 20:45.

Including standout videos such as Remind Me, Eple and Happy Up Here, this unique BUG show will look back over the band’s career and their creative collaborations with directors such as Martin de Thurah, H5 and Andreas Nilsson. Inimitable BUG host Adam Buxton will present a special programme of Röyksopp music videos, tour visuals and rarities, and will be joined on stage by special guests, including the band themselves. Adam will also be revealing some of the winning films in the BUG/Genero TV music video competition which has invited the band’s fans to submit music videos for any of the tracks on Senior.

Following the show, the band’s label Wall of Sound will be providing bass and beats in the benugo bar, so come on down and make an evening of it!

Tickets have just gone on general sale for two BFI Southbank shows in January – the first one on Thursday 20th January at 8.45pm followed by the Director’s Cut show (that’s the same show but without the director interview) on Friday 28th January at the earlier time of 6.30pm.

BUG Presents Ninja Tune XX at onedotzero. 12 November

BUG Presents a special show dedicated to the amazing video output of the Ninja Tune label as part of the Ninja XX celebrations. Taking place on Friday November 12th the show will form part of this year’s onedotzero_adventures in motion  festival, and Adam Buxton will be guiding us through some of the landmark videos in Ninja Tune’s back catalogue, as well as some more recent gems and speaking to some special guests.

BUG 22. 18 & 25 November 2010

BUG returns with episode #22 and another very special guest director on stage with Adam Buxton. Then on the 25th it’s our final BUG show of the year at the BFI Southbank as Adam hosts BUG #22 The Director’s Cut. It promises to be a cracker!

Both shows are at 8.45pm this time, but as usual there’s a huge demand

UK Music Video Awards. 12th October 2010.

The UK Music Video Awards return to the Odeon West End in London’s Leicester Square on October 12 2010 to celebrate creativity, technical excellence and innovation in music video and moving image for music.

There are a wide range of opportunities for UK individuals and companies to enter their work: from genre-led video categories, to prizes for individuals in the technical and craft areas of the business, to recognition for innovative approaches to music videos, ads and other visuals. There are also awards for international videos and outstanding individuals, voted for by the MVA jury members.

Judging and voting will begin in August, with the final shortlists unveiled in September. If you would like to enter one of the awards, you have until 3rd August to do so.

The MVA’s are organised by two of the key members of the team behind BUG, the BFI Southbank’s highly successful music video strand, and have 20 years’ experience running events in the UK music video business. BT Digital Music Awards 2010

London Roundhouse. 30 September 2010

Locomotion is thrilled to be working with Ballistic Events and Reality awards on the 2010 BT Digital Music Awards. The BTDMAs are the premier awards, which recognise the best in digital music entertainment as well as uses of digital technology in the music industry – from websites and blogs to fan-sites, podcasts and more.  Held at the Roundhouse in London, the awards show is set to feature live performances by major acts as well as up-and-coming talent, awards voted for by the public as well as chosen by industry judges.

Keep an eye out for more news announcing the line-up of performers as well as the TV broadcast of the awards show.  You can visit the website now to buy tickets to attend.  You can also nominate your favourite places to discover, hear or buy music.  From 9 August you will be able to cast your ballot in the People’s Choice and Public Vote groups of categories.  To stay updated, register on the BTDMA website or follow on Facebook and Twitter.

BUG at the Greenwich Comedy Festival. 12 September 2010

Adam will be hosting a special BUG show as part of the annual Greenwich Comedy Festival in London. This year, BUG will be appearing in the magnificent 1400 seater Big Top, the largest venue at the Festival, so this promises to be a very special show. Don’t miss it!
